OH MY GOD!! I HATE KRIPKE
I’m still shaking from that episode. Just watched it and it was A-MAZING!!
Seeing Dean torn apart by hellhounds redused me to tears, as it would all Dean girls out there.
Katie Cassidy did a fantastic job as Lilith (didn’t see that one coming- go Kripke, on that point). Those little twitches in the neck and little doe look in her eyes. PERFECT!
Dead or Alive= best brotherly moment all season and the ONLY song that summed up Dean’s last day.
I am so glad there is gonna be a season 4, I’ve got no idea what to expect. Sam was crying his eyes out and so was I… we were actually crying out ‘Dean’ at the same time. And that final image of Dean chained in Hell, and them coming out of his body, it was like something outta one of the Saw movies. That final cry for help from Dean that echoed over the credits was chilling. Can’t wait for next season Love You Kripke, what storytelling

sorry about bringing Bela up. my bad, ladies!
as for the finale, there were some really great moments in there. the Bon Jovi sing-a-long was great (and reminded me of my brother and i in the car). Bobby is always great to see in an ep, and he didn’t die! bonus! that little girl Lilith was perfectly creepy for me - i can’t believe Mom and Dad left Grandpa out to hang either!
the very end left me kind of flat. i think it’s because right before the final two minutes of the show, we got about a four minute commercial break here. totally killed the suspense and cliff hanger ending for me - i’ll have to iTunes it and watch it again without commercials because i was way into the action before the cut. watching Dean get ripped up by a hellhound (how good was that effect, btw? don’t even need to show the actual hound to create a great fear-filled scene) made me want to yell at my tv!
after reading a few more reviews, i think it also had to do with the fact that it was expected Dean would die and it’s expected he’ll come back (how/as what is a real good question) since i think the fandom would collectively explode if the brothers weren’t the center of the story anymore. i’m also beginning to wonder if a major character is going to die every season finale? i think this is the main reason i wasn’t as gutted as i thought i would be at Dean’s death (what the hell kind of Dean girl am i?!).
on the Hell/somewhere in between question, i heard someone mention that the web of chains looked like dendrites and firing synapses in the brain. very psychological take on Hell/Purgatory, like a nod to Hell being what you make it.
i hope you two will do a cast or two during the summer break with theories of what’s going to happen next season and whatnot! love to hear your take on the show!! oh, and i hope you don’t mind if i linked you on my blog? trying to get other people in on the fun.

I just listened to your season finale podcast (you guys are great), but I did want to comment that I agree with ‘Summer’ on the Bella-abuse issue. I too was under the impression that she had been sexually abused as a child. I also agree that that was not entirely clear by the man entering the crying girls room on its own. However, first one might assume that if he was coming into tell her about her parents’ death, she probably would not be preemptively crying. Especially if she had orchestrated their deaths, she would want to play unknowing and innocent for as long as she could get away with it. Second, there is no reason for the man to come quietly into her bedroom and close the door. And then when they cut back to the present, Bella’s comment that “they were lovely people and I killed them.” In an abuse light is rather bitterly ironic and seemed like a perfect Bella thing to say, as she neither revealed anything about herself nor sought any type of pity/sympathy for the situation. We however know that she did not kill them, but rather got a demon to do it for her, so you can already suspect that what she told Dean wasn’t the exact truth. It also seems improbable that a 14-year-old girl would really be driven to kill her parents for the money alone, as she would not be able to touch or liquidate most of it until she turned 18. (Thus it would be particularly strange that she would negotiate away to ten years of her life for something she wouldn’t really get for four more, and then only be able to use for six. The main thing that gave me the impression that there was more to the story, however, was when Bella met with the Demon girl on the swing, who commented that she “could take care of them for you.” Implying that there was some sort of problem in her current situation. That she didn’t have millions of dollars to play with just doesn’t cut it as that problem, nor does her sad, quiet state on the swing seem like the plotting, homicidal sociopath that she claims to be. I think what we have with Bella was a trapped girl that desperately wanted out of her current situation and was willing to make any sacrifice to do it. If she had just wanted the money, one would think that the second she was able to touch it, she would use it. Go off and lounge around, spend it on anything and everything, etc. But instead we see her making plenty of her own money through theft and black market trade and doing very little with it. (The hellhounds are coming and she’s staying in a motel room as rundown as the pool-hustling Winchesters. There’s more to Bella than we are given, and perhaps now we’ll never know more of the back-story, but one thing that’s for certain is that her killing her parents for their money alone just doesn’t fit with what we’re given.)
(On a slight side note, do we know if the actress is definitely not appearing in the fourth season? Because I can’t help but wonder that if her and Dean, (and presumably Ruby was also thrown back when lilith took over the body she was in) are all in hell now. It would be rather interesting to see those three work together in some way, especially as Dean has come to neither trust or like either of them, they might be the last people he would want help from, making for some rather interesting character dynamics.)

I think I have watched that episode like 100 times already! It was really great and I especially liked “Wanted Dead or Alive”. That has been one of my favorite songs since it came out and now I like it even more! The hellhounds tearing Dean apart tore me apart! I couldn’t help but feel like I lost my best friend (I never thought a tv show could take me on such emotional rollercoaster rides like this one does)! I was reading a tv guide article and Kripke gives us some Season 4 spoilers (not to many though)! Here is the link if you guys are interested in reading it:

HOLY CRAP this was a heck of an amazing finale…Dean’s dead! -sobs- Yes I actually waited to watch it till the day before season 4 starts…and I’m sure as heck glad I did –freaking out– I thought it was an air fresher too LOL The brother moments in this episode were worth waiting the whole season for…they were amazing! -dies- and major props for the acting in this episode, especially Kate Cassidy. Up till now we never got to see her do more than just ticked off smart a– but wow she was emotionally everywhere this time, and then Lilith posesses her…terrifyin! Dean’s death overwhelmed me so much I was actually beyond tears. It was horrifying…and Sammy looked so defeated…–starts sobbing– is it nine o’clock yet? -Chris
